Hello and welcome to the communities! Can you elaborate on what you mean by "VM's they seem to lose their network connection often"? How are you validating that they are losing networking and how do you know when it is restored? Is it possible that you have a duplicate IP or even MAC address on the network causing the issue? Have you tried uninstalling VMware Tools, rebooting, re-installing VMware Tools, and rebooting and seeing if that fixes the issue? Which vmnic are you using E1000? VMXNET3?
