New Network Issue

Hi,

We have vSphere 5 sutup and running our core network. It is all running fine. We have 4 ESXi hosts manged through a vcenter server.

Now recently we have added a new switch into the network and created a vswitch in vcenter, the purpose of this switch is to connect a completely seperate domain into our virtual environment. The is all working fine, we can build new machines into this domain etc, it can ping machines in its domain Now the issue is, we want to P2V a few of the current servers in this domain, but when we run convertor, we cant connect to them, nor can they ping vCenter or the hosts it is connected to. It is connected to the hosts on one of the NICs installed in it.

So what are we doing wrong?

There is no routing between this doamin and the core network domain, and never will be due to the nature of this domain. Do we need to add something like vkernal port to enable it to communicate with vcenter/ESXi hosts to allow the P2V to work? Obviously we can see any machines we build into it through vCenter, so what are we doing wrong?

Thanks in advance
