I'm currently using VMware 9.0.2, on a Win8 Host and with Ubuntu 12.04 guest.
Up until 3 days ago, everything worked swimmingly. Then one day I booted up my VM and there was no UI - no unity, no cinnamon, no desktop icons - just a background. Keyboard shortcuts didn't work, mouse clicks didn't work, no error messages or anything. If I disable 3d acceleration, it works, but if I re-enable it, it goes back to not working.
My question is - what happened? Why did it work last week, but stop working this week? There were no driver or vmware upgrades. My only recourse at this time is to wipe the VM and start a new one.
Anyone know what happened, or if there are logs I can collect from somewhere?
