Running vshpere 5.0 in a cluster.
Having an issue with a handful of virtual machines where I cannot make the floppy drive go away permenantly, it just keeps on re-appearing in the virtual machine settings and I'm at a loss. Here is what I have done.
Shutdown guest
go into settings and remove the floppy
directly edit the vmx file and remove all traces of floppy
The floppy was enabled in the bios, disabled it there
The moment the machine is booted up, the floppy re-appears
Another interesting item, when the vm is running, if I edit the vmx file to remove the floppy, it will reappear in the vmx file a minute later.
Don't know what else to try.
