- Sysboot.log will have early VMkernel startup, module loading, and host initialization information.
Hostd.log
: Host management service logs, including virtual machine and host Task and Events, communication with the vSphere Client and vCenter Servervpxa
agent, and SDK connections.
- Messages:Core VMkernel logs, including device discovery, storage and networking device and driver events, virtual machine startup, and a merged copy of the hostd and vpxa management service logs.
You can redirect the logs to Syslog server however Retention, rotation and splitting of logs received and managed by a syslog server are fully controlled by that syslog server
