What was going on pre-hang:
G'day there
Just now, after clearing a 43 GB space on my 'VM machines' partition, loading the Mac OS X Server 10.6.3 DVD to the external Player/Burner, and initiating an installation to a VMware Fusion 5.0.3 new (40 GB max, approx 11 GB initially) virtual HD being installed to an internal 120 GB SSD running 10.8.2, (and while I ate dinner, so missing the vital signs) at about ¼ way into the install, with 21 mins to run reported, this hang was triggered.
A Pwr button shut-down was necessary to exit the situation, because no mouse or menu input was possible. I therefore selected Shut-down from the Prw button options, and apps were successfully one-by one quit, until VMware Fusion was the next item. At that point the mouse & keyboard became free, and I was able to Opt-Cmd-Esc to the 'Force App Quit' window, where it could be seen that Fusion was 'not responding'. I Force Quit from there, and lo! Here I am blathering on.
The hang rpt: various, attached (hopefully. Last time when I clicked on 'Choose File', the ever rock solid iCab (latest) crashed. WHY no emeil bug report link? PerLease?)
Think about it. My rock solid browser crashed while trying to submit a crash report about your code! Not happy, Jan!
