I have seen this. Do not have the space at the moment to clone the drive.
I would like to understand what is the cause of the issue?

If you are looking for redundancy for vm kernel , better you can go with two virtual switches .
6.5 doesn't have thick client - vCenter , only esxi can be access .
There is no much differ in Network policy while compare to 6 or 5.5

You can't extend a disk that has open snapshots.
So basically you would need to commit any snapshots that you currently have.
The problem is that I cannot say with the current information we have if that is a safe thing to do.
IF your disk is setup as a split disk, then you should be fine.
However if your disk is a single growing disk file then your 60GB free might not be sufficient as if your virtual disk is 100GB it might need up to 100GB (and a bit more) in order to commit the snapshots.
PS: it wouldn't hurt if you make a backup of your VM to an external disk before doing anything else.
Do so with Workstation and your VM shut down.

Yes - the space reported by
@{n="SpaceUsedGB"; e={[math]::round( $_.UsedSpaceGB )}} is human readable - allocated disk space in GB
The $vm.Summary.Storage.Committed does not seem to match allocated disk at all - and its in 10^20 bits
We can't report from the two context's you mentioned in the same script?

Re: Upgrade from 6.0 HPE to 6.5 via cli fails with dependencies error
I've tried to install this :
VMware-ESXi-6.5.0-OS-Release-4564106-HPE-650.9.6.0.28-Nov2016-depot.zip
Was located on local datastore. To be honest, it was fresh install of 6.0 then upgraded to U2.
I found correct way of doing this update :
esxcli software sources profile list -d /vmfs/volumes/500GB\ Storage/VMware-ESXi-6.5.0-OS-Release-4564106-HPE-650.9.6.0.28-Nov2016-depot.zip

Tube que convertir una maquina antigua, y tuve un problema con el vmware converter, por que metia en el AGENT, un Windows installer 3.11 que no era compatible con el del Windows 2000 o nt 4.0 creo.... Lo dicho
Hacerlo con un vmware converter viejo, o meti el Windows installer 3.11 si es que se podía.
Siento no ser más especifico, por que no encuentro el vmware converter antiguo....

Cannot connect to peer
i encourd this today Windiws 7 VM just shut diwn and i wan unable to powe it on, instead i had to run though this article :-
which only tals about suspended vietual machines and hardware recogiguration on a Mac.
Althoygh deleting these .lck files soved my issue within the vm package, i didn't find any .vmss, presumerby stands for (Virtual Machine Save State), because i never supensed it in the first place, it just shut diwn and gave this error when i tried to power on again.
QUestion is, since i did't suspend, or do any reconfiguring/hardware changes on Mac, what else could cause this?
at the time the error occured I was scanning (with antivirus scan software) a shared folder, which was pointing to a map share on network..
Could thid have be the issue?
in Console on OS X all i could find was a reference to /etc/private......... Proxy.xml or something

VMWare view 7 Desktop is not working
Hello,
We are running Horizon View 6 for a while now. At first everything is fine, but lately we have alot of complain from users that after they logon to VM View desktop it appear to hung up. They can't open Internet Explorer, Word, and other other application. The workaround provided to us was to rename user VDI profile and that will resolve VDI desktop issue.
The workaround was working for awhile, and lately we have new problem with our VMWare View.
when user call and report their VDI desktop is not working, we rename their profile, that didn't solve the problem until we reboot the server that host the VDI profile.
Can anyone tell me how to troubleshoot this issue?

I'm on an official HPE image ESXi 6.5 with a Proliant Microserver Gen8.
When I upgraded from last version I started getting this same error from one of my USB 3.0 HDD.
Changed HDD enclosure to a USB 2.0 and no change... Could it be the HDD size (in my case 4TB)?
Unfortunately, I upgraded my VM's & the storages to VMFS6 already so I believe an easy rollback wouldn't be possible...
jaytee75: Does this (Why I have to do this manually: "usb.generic.allowCCID = "TRUE"") actually help?
If it does, would you please let me know where I need to do that edit.

Installation can't continue

How to allocate resources to ~30 VMs on 2x Xeon E5620, 64gb ram
I am very new to running vsphere on a server and was wondering how I can best allocate resources to my VMs. I am running light chess game simulations on each VM, and want 16VMs actively 24/7, with a dozen others switched on, but not running any processes. My main concern is that the CPU seems to be struggling at the moment. If I allocate a VM 1 socket and 1 core, the CPU hits 100% quite easily for that VM. If I allocate it 1 socket and 2 cores, it seems to do alright. Would I be able to run this many VMs with 2 cores each on my server ? It has 2x Intel® Xeon® E5620 (4x 2.4 GHz. with Hyper Threading).
See the attachment for the VM settings I will use on each VM, even though I might allocate 4gb memory to each, since I can easily upgrade to 128GB memory on my host server.
Really appreciate any help!

Macosx virtualiszation problem with Workstation pro but it was working
Hello guys, i have a problem which make me crazy, i followed a tutorial in order to virtualize macosx el capitan with my pc. All was working well but i had a problem with a password, so i quitted the software and when i wanted to use another time my virtual machine, it wasn't working anymore, the progress bar just below the white apple stopped at 70% and everytime, i go back to workstation menu. I tried to uninstall several times the software, now way, same thing each time. and i remark that when i uninstall and reinstall vmware workstation, the last virtual machine still appear. How to reset it completely ?
Any ideas ?
